Tis Summer
I will be back in a week with more ilttle painting! Hope you are all enjoying summer. Go out and look at things. Really look. Observe the colors of the summer sunset and go for a walk when the sun come up. We will be back soon.
Marsh
In my recent drive to McCall I eyed this beautiful marsh and had to stop. It was all about the neon green of the grass laying in front of the tree line. And the juxtaposition of the pond all added up for me.

Evening at Smith’s Ferry
On the way to McCall, ID there is an area that, when you round the corner, takes your breath away. It looks like a postcard. And in the evening light it is even more spectacular. So quiet and peaceful. It invites you to pull over… take a deep breath… and take it all in.

Lunch Box
I have had this lunch box for ages and use it to house paintbrushes. I put it in this cardboard box and saw a painting! You have to zoom in to see everything. It was fun to work the small details- the light on the front edge, the latches, the box on a box… everything just came together! I hope you enjoy it!

Abandoned Car
My good friend Lonni Clarke gave me this old rubber car years ago. She found it buried in her backyard. I have always wanted to do a painting of it and now is the time.

Pink Foam
This piece of pink packing foam has been kicking around my studio for years. I have put in on top of paintings and hung it on the wall at times. It has intrigued me. I just love the shape and color. I wanted to make something ordinary look extraordinary.

Hat Form
Over the years my wife and I have collected many interesting objects that fill our shelves. One of them is this old hat form that is steam stained and worn. The coloration is amazing and you can see in your minds eye all the hats that were formed on it.
